Thai Food in the District of Columbia

Started with the Papaya salad, not quite a traditional Som Tom but was light, flavorful & a decent portion for the price. Satisfying & recommended if you like that sort of green papaya salad.

We have been either driving by or walking by this location for years. But we decided to give this place a try few days ago. The menu is mixture of Asian food – Malaysian, Chinese and Japanese.

Had a fantastic large group dining experience here. We Reserved tables for a birthday celebration for 12 people & Tim and his team did a great job with preparing the delicious dishes including some of the special pre-requested by us, like lobsters, uni sushi for 12 people, table decorations, and more.

The vegetable dumplings and the coconut mushroom soup were tasty. The crispy chicken pad Thai and orange chicken seemed to lack flavor, quality, and seemed more like chicken nuggets.

very good portions and food! ordered the iced thai tea and the pho fillet. server was the absolute sweetest lady ever who took great care of us! it’s hard to believe this place JUST opened.

People were a little hard to understand. But the food was excellent. The service was good. The price is fair. I would highly recommend this as an alternative to the normally good P.F.

This was a unique restaurant we found by accident whilst exploring embassy row in downtown D.C. It was awesome. It had a great selection of teas (as its name suggests) and a fantastic menu of Japanese inspired cuisine.

Food was average but, for the price, you’d expect the quantities to at least be adequate. The Dixie sized rice was laughable, and the fact the General Tao Chicken container wasn’t filled was disappointing considering it cost $20.50.

Food: food was great, only deduction was the chicken appetizer was extremely small for the price paid. The pineapple frid rice was really good but pricy at almost $23.

My first time at Tabtim Siam street food. I ordered pineapple fry rice, crabs fry rice, Penang chicken, Crispy chicken cashew, and drunken noodles.

YOU CAN SKIP THIS PLACE. It looks better than it tastes. The food is lackluster. I give it a six out of 10 (6/10). it’s geared towards tourists, going to the zoo and other attractions in the area.

I ordered their drunken noodles. The noodles were terrible. Looks like wet frozen noodles that were quickly unfrozen from soaking in water that did not get unfrozen properly.

Absolutely delicious and authentic. The Ka Prow with chicken, shrimp, and fried egg blew my mind. It was the perfect combination of spicy and savory.

Great Thai food, had one of my fav is the papaya salad, so far one of the best within the DMV. Perfect spice!!!! The basil rice was a little spicy for me (even tho I asked for level 3) if you don’t like it hot ask for level -0 – to be honest everything we order was good.

Had a late lunch at Teaism Penn Quarter during cherry blossom season, and it was such a nice find! The food was way better than I expected – really flavorful and well-prepared.

A hidden gem – they seem to have a unique style and I’m here for it. Good proportions, flavors are great – chicken wings with basil sweet sauce a hit! BEWARE! This is not traditional Thai cuisine.

This place is a hidden gem in DC. My first time having it I ordered the basil fried rice for takeout and it was absolutely amazing. I went in yesterday to enjoy some time alone and it was even better in person.

Great all around. We went for the brunch, unfortunately someone in our party didn’t want to pay for bottomless so the rest of us missed out. We ended up ordering a mix of sushi and entrees, everything was top notch.

Went back and forth between 4-5 stars because the food is good but the service/vibe/prices could be better. The seaweed salad is delicious and I loved all the sushi we got! The drinks are pricey and there’s no happy hour – which seems kind of silly when the place is completely empty on a Tuesday early evening.

The food here is fantastic and reasonably priced. The service is also fantastic. We usually do takeout here but decided to try dining in. The servers were so kind and attentive.

Ordered plenty of food and wanted to give it a 5/5 but the Steak Pad Thai was ranscent and we weren’t able to finish it. Overall I would come back and just avoid that dish, otherwise awesome customer service and efficient delivery service! It’s a decent mom and pop Thai restaurant.

The bottomless brunch here is incredible!!! Highly recommend. We tried almost their entire menu I think and there wasn’t a single dish we didn’t like.

When visiting DC, the kids declared we had to make our trip not only a Capital Tour, but an International Food Tour. If you’ve never tried Laos food, Laos is Town is the place to go.

My wife and I stopped here on a whim looking for a thai restaurant right before they were closing but all the staff were great, didn’t rush us at all and were very receptive.

Charmthai is a true gem! The food is absolutely delicious—full of authentic flavors and beautifully presented. I especially loved their rich curries and fresh, flavorful appetizers.

The food was great, flavored. The soup balanced well with sour and salty. Small portion good for few people; or order more to share. Good service.

Pretty amazing Thai food with good serving size. The seating is very slightly limited but the place isn’t overcrowded during lunch hours, so I never had to wait.

Took a while to get the attention of our server and our order taken. It wasn’t busy when I went with my family but we sat for a long time before getting served water or getting utensils.

Best Thai food I’ve had in a while. So flavourful and yummy. Had a filling meal with noodles, tofu, sushi, veggies and of course the mango sticky rice was the cherry on top.

Hands down one of the best Thai restaurants in DC. We live nearby and this is a weekly stop for us for take out. Is it possible to have staff that are more friendly?? I’d be hard pressed to think of any.

So nice. Kind staff, good food, fun drinks, and good vibes. We had dinner in the patio, and most everyone who passed by said to their friends “this place is great/underrated” totally agree.

The owner and the services are so modest and very friendly. We came here by personal scooters and really want to try the foods. The owner was very accommodating us by letting us bring our scooters inside so nobody on the street can steal them.

I had a wonderful time at this cozy Thai restaurant. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the service was friendly and attentive. We ordered duck curry, spring rolls, and a couple of soups, and each dish was a delightful blend of flavors and textures.

The inside is so well decorated! It was a fun vibe and I loved the decor. I started with a Thai iced tea and we shared an order of the egg rolls which were really good! I loved the sauce it came with as well.

The food tastes good. It feels like eating in Thailand. Restaurants owner can give accurate descriptions of menu items on request. I really like seafood papaya salad and other dishes are good also.

Excellent food. We hit up this spot every visit to DC. Very accommodating. We asked for a side of their homemade kimchi, which isn’t on the menu, and got a response of sure! Would highly not recommend.

When nearby Rice Bar was unexpectedly closed for lunch, my friend and I pivoted to this Thai restaurant. Yelp gave it decent reviews. Walking in on a Friday around 11:40am, we got a seat inside right away.

Solid spot for classic, decently affordable Thai food at a cozy, no-frills spot located on 14th Street and just a few blocks away from Logan Circle.

Great meal with flavors that popped and punched! Everything was *almost* as it should be. Chicken wings were wonderful, full of flavors, the sauce had a delicate balance of spices and tanginess.

Ordered take out which was ready and packaged well. Food was fast and delicious. I love Egg Lava Kraprao Chicken. The dish was tasty and the portion size was great.

Beau Thai is a gem! You know the restaurant is good when the locals recommend it and to go orders are consistently flying out the door. First off, the staff was very friendly.

Siam House serves the best Thai in DC! This family owned establishment is absolutely incredible and the service is amazing! We ordered the Mussaman curry with mixed vegetables, the Eggplant with fried tofu and mixed vegetables, and the Pineapple Chicken.

The food was okay. It was pretty bland compared to other Thai places I’ve tried in the city. Maybe it was just the dish I ordered? I had the Chicken Pad See Ew, and we also got the Pad Thai.

Thip Khao has set a high standard on what to expect from Laotian cuisine, especially this being our first time. Many dishes are similar to what is found in Thai cuisine.

First off super toddler friendly staff and exceptionally clean bathrooms. No diaper changing station in the bathroom. The food was delicious.

I recently visited Thai Chef Street Food, and I was absolutely blown away by the flavors and authenticity of the dishes! Every bite was a delight, with fresh ingredients and bold, delicious flavors that transported me straight to Thailand.
